Production of our signs, screen printing and embroidery is done right here in Whistler. That means we don’t have to ship goods up and down the highway, therefore cutting down on vehicle emissions and reducing our carbon footprint.
We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world and we believe that we all have a responsibility to keep it that way. Our company is committed to constantly looking for new and better ways to help preserve our environment. Yes we recycle. Yes we turn off the lights when the room is empty. Yes we use LED light bulbs. But we can all do more and we will continue to improve on our processes and adopt new technology and products as they become available.
There are a number of environmental initiatives that Glacier Sign & Threads incorporates into our daily business. Here are just a few examples:
Recycled Product Options
We offer a number of product options for substrates made from recycled materials. Aluminum sign blanks are made from post-consumer content. There are vinyl media and banners that contain recycled content. Some are also recyclable after use. We offer a range of clothing styles made from bamboo or organic cotton and reusable tote bags made from recycled plastics. We’d be pleased to discuss the option that is best for you.
Ink and Cleaning Products
Our printers use Roland EcoSol Max inks which carry Greenguard certification. Empty ink cartridges are recycled. The cleaning products used in our screen printing division are citrus based with very low VOC levels.
Digital Printing = Print on Demand
With the advances in digital printing it allows us to offer “print on demand” services. This means we only print what you need, when you need it, eliminating the waste of excess product. We use the same technology for printing small runs of apparel and eliminate the waste associated with producing screens.
